Twenty four Indian fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy for allegedly fishing in Sri Lankan waters.
Director of the Fisheries Department of the Mannar District P.S. Miranda stated that these fishermen were arrested close to the Talaimannar Harbour.
Four boats which were seized along with the fishermen have been handed over to the Fisheries Department.
The fishermen are due to be produced before the Mannar Magistrate Tuesday.
