Twenty families have been temporarily evacuated from the Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts owing to the risk of landslides and minor floods.
Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre, Pradeep Kodippili. said seven families comprising of 28 individuals have been evacuated from the Nuwara Eliya district due to the risk of minor flooding.
Meanwhile, thirteen families have been evacuated from the Welimada area in the Badulla District due to landslide threats. Our reporters in the areas say that the evacuated families have been moved to temporary shelters.
