The National Building Rerearch Organisation has decided to install a series of cameras opposite the landslide-prone zone between Kokmaduwa and Imaduwa on the Southern Expressway.
Director of the Landslides Research Unit of the NBRO, R.M.S Bandara stated that the cameras will be installed to observe the changes in the environment in the area.
In addition, they would upload those visuals onto their website, for public viewing. He also noted that a warning alarm has been set up in the region.
One lane on the expressway between Kokmaduwa and Imaduwa was re-opened yesterday following its previous closure due to the threat of landslides.
