The Met Department says showers or thundershowers may occur at times in the Northern, Western, Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

The department forecasts that thundershowers will develop in several areas after 2.00 p.m.

The department says that there may be temporary localised strong winds during thundershowers. The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by lightning activity.
