A body of an individual with laceration marks was discovered on Monday morning at the premises of the Golf Course in Borella.

The victim was an employee of the Golf Course.

Police received a tip-off on Monday, October 5 on its emergency hotline. Following investigations  a body of an individual at the Golf Course premises in Colombo.

The victim was identified as Kalutantrige Chaminda Perera also known as Patis, a resident from Kitulwatte, Borella.

It is also reported that the 38-year-old victim was living alone. He was separated from his family.

The victim’s brother stated that due to a previous argument where he was assaulted with an iron rod, his legs had been injured.

He went on to note that when he inquired as to why he was assaulted, he had stated that it was because he didn’t purchase alcohol.

He added that he had asked him not to get involved any altercation and to file a complaint with the police. The altercation had resulted in him losing two of his teeth.

Hulftsdorp Magistrate Nirosha Fernando arrived at the crime scene on Monday morning and carried out the magisterial inquest.
