SLFP seniors call on PM to discuss UNHRC Resolution on SL

Seniors of SLFP had called on the Prime Minister and discussed the United Nations Human Rights Council Resolution on the Sri Lanka.

Minister S.B. Dissanayake stated that, upon the instructions of President Sirisena, they called on PM Ranil Wickeremsinghe and Minister Malik Samarawickrama to extensively discuss the US Resolution on SL which will be presented to the UN.

He went on to note that, at the end, they have to obtain the provision to undertake a complete domestic mechanism and investigate the issues highlighted by UNHRC of the breach of law over certain allegations.

He added that they can allow international judges, lawyers and advisers to be involved as they hope to take necessary action according to the law created by the Parliament.

Further, the UN Secretary General Ban ki-moon has noted to the President that he is a world leader who has won the hearts of the fellow leaders of the world, which is a strength.
