President Maithripala Sirisena has ordered that provision of facilities be expedited to re-settle the public who were inconvenienced due to the Moragahakanda and Kalu Ganga Projects.
The President has issued instructions in this regard when he met the officers of the Ministry of Environment and Mahaweli Development on Thursday.
The President has agreed to provide the material and human resources required to complete the project on time, without any interruption. Reportedly 53 percent of the Moragahakanda Project has been completed.
The project is scheduled for completion in 2017.
Furthermore, the President has ordered that the speeding up of the process of supplying drinking water to the public who has been inconvenienced owing to the water sources drying up as a result of the Uma Oya Project.
The President issued these orders at the Progress Review Meeting held at the Ministry of Environment.
