My life will not change despite the fact that I was given a different portfolio because my life is as it is. And when I am given a ministerial portfolio it gives me the ability to serve the people and that will be the only difference

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Harsha De Silva said:

I believe that I have been given a very important ministry and it is important for the country at present because we need to combine the foreign affairs with the economic affairs of the country. And we failed in that area over a period of time

State Minister of Defence, Ruwan Wijewardene stated:

We formed a national government for the people and I believe that as MPs and ministers we can work together with the President and the Prime Minister and resolve the issues in the country and thereby bring about real development and empower the people of the country…”

State Minister of Finance, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said:

The previous general election was a defeat and that was a different wave and those who were with that wave are in the cabinet today.

He further stated:

We as members from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party were engaged in politics under a certain policy and we obtained positions based on the decisions made by the Party Central Working Committee and today we realise that the decision that we took back then was correct.

State Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management,Wasantha Senanayake said:

Under the Good Governance concept this ministry will be administered accordingly and I hope to work cordially with the respective minister

Deputy Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare, Ranjan Ramanayake stated”

No matter who we have to work with, I will not make any changes to the statements made on the United National Front stage for Good Governance and no matter how friendly persons are to me , i will not stop going to the CID, the FCID and the Bribery Commission

He  added:

I will greet them in Parliament and then head directly to the Bribery Commission with the file, because that is my way .
