Seven young professionals from the advertising industry and two students attached to the Raffles Design Institute and the University of Moratuwa will represent Sri Lanka at the Spikes Asia Festival 2015 scheduled to kick off later this week in Singapore, Metal Factor, an industry support group releasing a statement said.
The team was picked through a local competition which saw 75 applicants from a cross-section of agencies competing to be part of the Sri Lankan team. The local competition was conducted by Metal Factor in partnership with representatives from the advertising industry. The teams will represent the country at the Young Spikes Competitions, Young Creative Academy and Spikes Asia Accounts Executive Academy.
To book a slot in the Sri Lankan team contenders had to develop an integrated campaign for the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board to motivate Sri Lankan youth to say no to drugs, find a creative way of using media to raise funds for the NGO -The Wildlife & Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka and create awareness about the SOS Children’s Village through a digital campaign.
The Spikes Asia Festival is the region’s oldest and most prestigious event that recognizes the best work in the categories of Film, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Digital, Direct, Promo and Activation’s, Media, Design, Poster, Craft, Integrated, Mobile and PR. The festival brings together bright young professionals to a three day celebration of creativity in communication.
