The United National Party (UNP) stated that the cabinet of ministers in the new government will be limited to 30 under the new constitution.

Party Media Spokesperson Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam stated the approval of the parliament is mandatory, if this number is to be increased during a formation of a national government in the future.

He added that the cabinet of ministers is currently being selected under the leadership of party leader and Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
