President Sirisena sends condolences to Bangkok over recent bomb blast

President Maithripala Sirisena offered his condolences over the death of 20 people, including foreigners, due to a deadly bomb blast near Bangkok’s Erawan shrine on Monday.

The president expressed his condolences to Thailand’s King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Speaking on behalf of Sri Lankan Government, the president also expressed his deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the Bangkok bomb explosion.

He offered his condolences to the people and the Government of Thailand. President Mairthripala Sirisena also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Meanwhile, President Maithripala Sirisena issued a communique expressing his condolences to the President of India Pranab Mukarji over the demise of his wife Suvra Mukherjee. The communique notes that the President expressed his sympathies on behalf of the government of Sri Lanka and its people.
