Russian police arrest gang over ‘illegal cheese’

Police in Russia has detained and international criminal gang that produced contraband cheese worth about $30 million.

6 people have been taken in to custody for the cheese that was produced using banned western ingredients. Around 470 kg of banned western rennet, a substance containing enzymes had been used for the production of the contraband cheese.

Russian authorities have been waging a crackdown against produce from the West following a year old Embargo that was placed in retaliation against the sanction placed on Moscow over Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin has been on a path of destruction when it comes to food and produce smuggled in illegally, and authorities have been bulldozing piles of cheese,peaches and even frozen geese.
