Reuters and local media have said that at least 27 people have been killed and 78 wounded by a bomb blast that hit the commercial centre of the Thai capital Bangkok.
At least four foreigners were among the 27 dead in the blast, Reuters reported.
No-one has yet said they carried out the attack, which took place close to the Erawan shrine in Bangkok’s central Chidlom district. The shrine is a major tourist attraction. The Thai government said the attack was aimed at foreigners.
A second bomb has been found in the area and made safe, officials say.
