The Court of Appeal on Thursday ordered the IGP to file objections over the petition that was filed seeking to abolish the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division.

The petition filed by Venerable Elle Gunawansa Thero and Professor Carlo Fonseka was taken up before the President of the Court of Appeal justice, Vijith Malalgoda.

Venerable Elle Gunawansa Thero informed court that, after he filed this petition, he had been noticed to appear before the FCID in a bid to harass him. Court informed the Attorney General to report matters to court, after making an inquiry on the case.

The case will be taken up again on  October 2.
