Four Sri Lankan girl scouts are taking part in the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Yamaguchi Japan for the first time. However, it is the scouts who are taking up the task of cooking meals for the team.
The girl scouts taking part in the World Scout Jamboree have to undergo the same training and activities.
An article, penned by Kithmi Weerawardena, was published in the Jamboree newsletter. It is said that scouts need to have an understanding on how to prepare a meal when away from home, and out in the wilderness.
Preparing a meal in a different country is a novel experience for these young Sri Lankans as everyone takes part in the process.
The 23rd World Scout Jamboree will conclude on Friday August 7.
