As the general elections are draw closer, the opposition continues to bombard the government over the controversial Central Bank bond transaction.

Here are some of the views expressed over this matter on the political platform on Monday July 27.

Hambantota District UPFA Candidate Mahinda Amaraweera says that he was the one who took the matter of the bond scam committed by the Central Bank Governor to the Bribery Commission and today, there is an investigation underway into the matter.

He adds that that they await a decision on this case, so that they can see how independent the Bribery Commission is.

He also says that the COPE Committee also gave evidence indicating that the Central Bank Governor and his son-in-law were involved in this scam adding that even Ranil Wickremesinghe has a resonsbility here.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of the UPFA Susil Premajayantha says that he will prove in a very justifiable way as to what happened with regard to this bond transaction. He notes that the report compiled by the three-member committee clearly states that the Central Bank Governor did not act in a very transparent manner, adding that there are certain things hidden.
