According to the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Government, investigations will be conducted if necessary information on state officials who engage in election activities is provided.
The Secretary to the Ministry noted that investigations into such state officials who are alleged to be involved in election propaganda will be launched through the commissioner to the ministry and relevant officials upon information received by the ministry.
It was also noted that guidelines need to be adhered to by state officials during the election period. Thereby, complaints could be lodged with the Elections Commissioner in the event of a breach of election laws by state officials. The Secretary to the Ministry went on to note that legal action could be taken against such officials.
