Hotel set on fire – believed to be owned by “Ukkuwa”

An unidentified group has set fire to a hotel allegedly belonging to Ukkuwa also know as Jayaweera Patabandige Indika who was murdered in Tangalle on Sunday.

Police say that they have identified one suspect who is said to be linked to the murder of “Ukkuwa” who was also a chief suspect in several murders. The story continued to unfold as police said that they have discovered the car which was allegedly used by the suspects in Ukkuwa’s murder.

The vehicle was discovered in Angunukolapelessa. Our correspondent said that on Sunday night a fire damaged a building and several cabanas attached to the hotel. “Ukkuwa” was also suspected in the attempted murder of “Army Amila” a few years ago and two other murders.

One of those murders date back to  June 4, 2014, where a bus conductor was shot and killed at a bus station in Tangalle.
