The controversial Central Bank bond transaction, which has made headlines ever since it was exposed, continued to come under criticism at media briefings on Sunday, July 26.
JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath says that the people of this country who earn their living with the utmost difficulty have incurred a loss of Rs. 42 billion rupees within these five months alone.
Meanwhile, United Citizens’ Front Leader Tissa Attanayake points out that there are no ‘Mr. Cleans’ in this government of good governance, adding that through this bond transaction at the Central Bank, a major financial fraud and thievery amounting to a loss of nearly Rs. 6 billion has been incurred.
He also said that he does not know if people like Champika Ranawaka, who attacked and criticised the government for corruption two weeks before the election, are now doing justice to this issue.
