Convening a press conference, the United People’s Freedom Alliance criticised the election manifesto of the United National Party.

UPFA candidate Vasudeva Nanayakkara noted that what they have used the psychological aspects of the ‘Panchashilaya’ under the guise of this five-point plan and that this is the work of Ranawaka.

He added: They do not mention five years , but say 60 months. What they have showed the people is the trailer and not the entire movie and when the movie is released you will see how bad it is because a trailer needs to have best parts of the movie. But this trailer is a bankrupt one and after the 17th, they will have to stop playing this movie.

UPFA Western Provincial Councillor Samanmalee Sakalasuriya noted that it was said that 6 percent of the GDP will be directed towards education. The councillor added there was a campaign on Facebook where all the university lecturers, professors, teachers and students used their images as the display picture but asked if received the 6 percent, adding that people should not be deceived by these statements.
