Cabinet to file legal action against UPFA over bus payment

The use of Sri Lanka Transport Board buses for political activities during the presidential election period was discussed once again.

Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Rajitha Senaratne said that United People’s Freedom Alliance owed the Sri Lanka Transport Board Rs. 82 million and buses were used for political meeting. He added that Rs. 50 million has been placed as an advance.

He also said that they are yet to settle the Rs. 142.5 million owed to the Sri Lanka Transport Board. Speaking further, the spokesperson said the Cabinet decided to file legal action against UPFA due to the failure to make these payments.
