The European Unions Election Observation Mission convened a press conference in Colombo on Tuesday.

Member of the European Parliament and Chief Observer of the EU Election Observation Mission Cristian Prada, speaking at the press briefing, said that it is  a very important political moment, and they do not want to have ‘political comments’ as they are not here to interfere into the process.

He added that their mandate is to be neutral, adding that they are here to observe.
