A public rally organised by the JVP took place in Sooriyawewa on July 16, where JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake noted that President Maithripala Sirisena made an appeal that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party must be saved from the Rajapaksa group and said that in order to do so, the Rajapaksa group needs to be defeated at the elections.
He added: Usually they say, I was born in Hambantota. I am the son of Girawa Pattuwa and many things like that and at once, he is now in Kurunegala and I was told that the color of the scarf has changed. Hambantota is famous for Kurakkan so he wore the Kurakkan scarf before and now since Kurunegala is famous for coconuts, they are trying to make a coconut bangle.
