Addressing a media briefing in Kandana, State Minister of Defense Ruwan Wijewardene has hinted that the UNP is the only stable party contesting the upcoming general election.

The State Minister of Defense went on to state that there are issues within the UPFA and the SLFP because of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa’s greed for power and the continuance with thievery he had going on for so many years; and that he is now trying to creep into Parliament.

Minister of Public Order John Amaratunga noted that there is a political revolution in effect nowadays and all former ministers and MPs from Rajapaksa’s alliance are fighting to contest from their list. He further noted that there is no way of handing over their nominations list and after waiting until Friday, July 10, to do it, there is still no end to them coming to their side.
