Political parties submitted their nominations list for several districts for the parliamentary elections on July 10.

The nominations list of the UPFA for the Badulla district, was handed over by group leader Nimal Siripala De Silva. One accepted political party and two independent groups submitted their nominations list to contest from the Badulla district.

The Badulla District group leader of the UPFA added that the UPFA has fielded a strong and powerful list, taking into consideration the different communities that live in the Badulla district. He said they have submitted a strong list in association with the strong organisers and that Dilan Perera will enter through the national list.

Former Minister Dilan Perera noted that one member had already been appointed when they submitted our nominations. He added that they will hit a six but not over the fence but will drive to the boundary line and two singles. He also stated that if they are leaving in fear, they will not have to give the national list position to the other areas.

Nominations for the Hambanatota District of the Democratic Party were submitted July 10 by group leader Ranjith Karanayake and the nominations list for the Kegalle District of the Democratic Party was submitted by Group Leader Janaki Athukorala. Nominations of the Democratic party for the Galle district was also handed over July 10 morning.

Nominations of the JVP to contest from the Kalutara District were submitted by Group Leader Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa July 10 morning where he noted that the people urged for the UNP and the SLFP not to provide nominations to the corrupt. JVP nominations for the Polonnaruwa and Vavuniya districts were also handed over.

The Frontline Socialist Party submitted their nominations for the Colombo district by group leader Pubudu Jayagoda. He went on to state that the Frontline Socialist Party will contest the election under a new theme for real change and leftist power. Nominations of the Frontline Socilaist party for Anuradhapura, Hambantota, Amapara and Kurunegala Districts were also submitted July 10.

Nominations of the Janasetha Peramuna for the Polonnaruwa District were submitted also on July 10 by Secretary of the Party Venerable Battaramulle Seelarathana Thero.

The Nominations List of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) for the Vavuniya District was handed over by Group Leader Selvam Adaikalanathan.

Okkama Rajawaru Okkoma Wasio party submitted their nominations for the Kandy District on July 10.
