Minuwangoda jewellery heist in leaves owner dead – Police unable to make breakthrough

Police are yet to make any break through over the murder and jewellery heist in Minuwangoda. The proprietor of the jewellery store was killed when the thieves opened fire. The robbery had taken place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 07.  CCTV cameras at the location recorded the events that transpired.

The group who had had got into a struggle with the owner of the shop, had shot the owner, and fled the scene on motorcycles. Police suspect that these two individuals who arrived at the shop prior to the robbery were involved in the incident.

The victim was a 47-year-old resident of the Gal-Oluwa area in Minuwangoda. His body has been handed over to his relatives.
