Former Baddegama Pradeshiya Sabha member alleges police assault

Buddhika Kodituwakku, a former member of the Baddegama Pradeshiya Sabha, alleges that he was assaulted by the police. The former Pradeshiya Sabha member claims that he was assaulted the night before last while returning home from a political meeting in the Baddegama area. The incident involves an alleged theft of cattle.

Based on the former Pradeshiya Sabha member’s allegations, our area correspondent visited the site  where cattle were allegedly  stolen.

Meanwhile, the former Pradeshiya Sabha member and the cattle owner have both lodged complaints with the Police over the incidents which are said to have taken place the day before yesterday.

We inquired the Police Media Spokesperson over the allegations levelled by the former Pradeshiya Sabha member.

Meanwhile, Former Pradeshiya Member Susil Padmasiri claims that his residence in the Nagoda area in Kalutara was attacked by petrol bombs last night. However, police said the the petrol bombs did not explode.
