The National Unity Front convened a press conference on July 8 where leader of the National Unity Front Azad Sally noted that President Maithripala had reached an accord with the civil society, as have all political parties – not to provide nominations to those who are corrupt.

He went on to question if President Maithripala Sirisena can go beyond this accord and provide nominations to rogues.

He added that 6.3 million people voted to defeat the corrupt but it will be a situation where they would have to be with the rogues, noting that is the situation today.
