NBRO warns of greater risk of landslides in Badulla region

It has been revealed that there is a more than 60 % risk of landslides taking place in the Badulla Region. This situation was revealed through research conducted in the past by the National Building Research Organisation.

The Landslide Studies and Director of the Disaster Management Unit, R.M.S Bandara said that this is a matter of concern as it poses as a risk for the people. He added that reducing the risks in relation to the landslide is a great task for both, the local authorities and the people of the area.

He added that measures have been taken to identify the locations that are at risk of being prone to landslides.
