The Consumer Affairs Authority stated that there are ongoing raids countrywide to find places that are in the practice of selling bottles containing intoxicants.

Director General of the Authority J.A.M Douglas stated district officers have been instructed to carry out the raids. He added that a number of raids have been conducted in the Colombo and Gampaha Districts and nearly four hundred thousand bottles have been discovered thus far.

He added that these bottles of intoxicants had been brought into the country illegally.
