The Disaster Management Centre says it has begun investigations into reports of two minor tremors that occurred in the Bambalapitiya area between 4 and 4:30 on Wednesday evening.

The Deputy Director of the DMC, Pradeep Kodippili, when contacted stated that the vibrations are yet to be confirmed as evidence of earthquake activity.

Kodippili added that the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau has been informed of the incident and that investigations are currently underway.
