Chief Minister of the North Western Province Dayasiri Jayasekera, declaring open the Kithawala Fair in Kuliyapitiya, stated that nominations should not be given to persons involved in the treasury bond controversy.

He added that there were bond thieves who emerged in the past 168 days; nominations to such bond thieves must not be given and that the leaders of the Treasury Bond thieves are members of political parties and it is they who safeguard and protect the other Bond thieves, And it was clearly publicised in the media that the Chairman of the United National Party is involved in this issue.

He added that during the final days of this government, COPE too investigated this matter and this COPE report was to be presented to Parliament within a week and if the COPE report was brought to Parliament, Ranil Wickremesinghe and his government would have to go home branded as rogues.
