Leader of the JVP Anura Kumara Dissanayake expressed these views at a rally held in Hanawura.

He said that the state of this parliament was such that it could not continue further. Since  April 29, he said, nothing was passed as parliament was unable to pass any law, act or amendment.

He added that the parliament has been dissolved and an election is to be held on August 17 and everyone knows that the month of August is month where a crucial exam of the country is held. He said if they had not been idling after the passing of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, there would have been a new government by now.
