Bodies of three persons have been discovered in separate locations.

A body of a male was discovered on the sixth floor of a housing complex down Lauries Lane, Bambalapitya. The body was found when the police investigated a complaint of an odour that was reported from the housing complex. Police have identified the deceased as a 45-year-old who lived alone. Police suspect that the individual may have died over the past few days. According to police, the man travelled abroad on a regular basis. The body has been moved to the National Hospital Morgue following a magisterial inquiry

Police also discovered a body floating in the waterway of an abandoned quarry in Galwetiyawa, Dambulla, based on a tip-off. The identity of the deceased, who is believed to be 30 years of age, is yet to be ascertained. Acting Magistrate of Dambulla Jayampathi Rathnadivakara carried out the post-mortem examination and informed police to report to the courts with information on the dead body.

Meanwhile, a body of a 42-year-old male was discovered in the 1st Mile Post area in Udagama, Embilipitiya. Police had also seized a sum of Rs. 10,000 found in the victims wallet. The deceased has been identified as a resident of the Kotelawala Junction in Embilipitiya.
