Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka was summoned before the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) once again on Tuesday, June 23, to record a statement.
The speaker of Parliament had instructed to COPE to initiate an investigation the governor of the Central Bank taking in to consideration the motion presented by MPs demanding his removal, citing irregularities committed by the governor over the issuing of bonds.
The governor of the Central Bank made his second appearance before COPE. Chairman of COPE, D.E.W. Gunasekera, stated that the recording of statements from the governor on the investigation concluded today. He added that the report will be produced in Parliament soon.
