Addressing an event held at the Tangalle Zonal Education Office, former president Mahinda Rajapaksa said the country’s development has come to a standstill.

He made the statement while attending an event held to declare open the newly constructed statue of Anagarika Dharmapala in the premises of the Tangalle Zonal Education Office.

Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa said they were attacked when the country was being developed along with roads and local industries. He went on to note that they call them rogues but at present, wages are being paid after paying loans in billions, which is the very reason there is no development in the country.
