Chief Minister of the Uva Province Harin Fernando states that an era has dawned where state employees can engage in their duties without being political slaves.
He made this statement during a discussion held between school principals of the Badulla district.
The meeting was held to discuss the issues in schools in the Badulla district. School equipment worth Rs. 197,000 was also presented. Speaking at the event, the chief minister said that with the passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution recently, a historic change took place within the country.
He also said that an opportunity has come about where people can make use of their educational backgrounds and skills to work towards the betterment of their own selves without being political servants.
