The Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter of Siam Sect, Most Venerable Galagama Sri Attadassi Thero says that the operation of liquor stores and conducting motor races in the area surrounding the temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy needs to be stopped.

Most Ven. Aththadassi Thera notes that the entire world has respect for the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic adding that it is our duty to protect it and to stop the extortion and gambling that takes place around.

Speaking further, the Most Venerable Thera notes that the people do not have to come to the vicinity of the temple to follow such malpractices
