Speaking at an event held to distribute nutrition packs to expectant mothers in Rajagiriya, Harsha de Silva, deputy minister of policy planning and economic affairs, elaborated on certain processes that are undertaken to enact the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.
Deputy Minister de Silva stated that on Monday, June 8, the cabinet had accepted the prime minister’s proposal on the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, which includes the president.
He went on to note that when the draft on the 20th Amendment to the Constitution is presented to parliament, they hope to pass it. He added that all the parties would extend their support for the passage of the 20th Amendment.
