The hearing of the petition filed seeking bail for former minister Basil Rajapaksa, was adjourned until June 15 by Colombo High Court Judge, Kusala Sarojini Weerawardene.
The petition goes on to state that the orders issued by the Kaduwela Magistrate to remand the former minister are prejudiced. During the hearing at the Colombo High Court on Monday June 8, President’s Counsel Jayantha Weerasinghe, appearing on behalf of Basil Rajapaksa, stated that a fundamental rights petition filed before the Supreme Court on behalf of the former Minister has been adjourned until June 12.
Court adjourned hearings of the petition seeking bail until June 15, in order to give time for the respondents to file objections.
