The World Environment Day Commemoration was held at the Vihara Maha Devi Park in Colombo on Saturday, under the auspices of President Maithripala Sirisena.

The commemoration ceremony for World Environment Day 2015, which is being marked under the theme Seven Billion Dreams; One Planet; Consume with Care was organised by the State Ministry of Environment and the Colombo Municipal Council.

The President also participated at an exhibition being held parallel to Environment Day. The President  planted a sapling at the Vihara Maha Devi Park, to commemorate World Environment Day 2015.
