MP Tissa Attanayake was produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court once again on Wedensday, June 03.
The MP was produced over allegations of him forging documents in the run-up to the presidential election. When the case was taken up before Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage, the CID informed court that investigation reports are to be submitted to the attorney general. As a request was made to assign a separate date for the court hearing, and the case was postponed until August 5.
MP Tissa Attanayake stated that no new information has been submitted to court, whereas the enthusiasm to arrest and place him in remand was not witnessed.
He added that the issue is that this is a clear case of political vengeance and went on to note that the judiciary will serve him justice.
