A group of fishermen who were stranded in international waters for over 10 days aboard the Doni Multi Day Fishing Vessel reached the shores of Sri Lanka on Monday, June 1, afternoon.
The fishermen were towed to the Nilwella Fishing Harbour at around 12 p.m.
They left for their trade on May 10 aboard the Doni Multi Day Fishing Vessles and eight days later, their vessel’s engine malfunctioned. Strong winds and currents had carried the vessel into international waters.
