Three individuals – two police officers and an army commando – who are said to have attended a meeting of President Maithripala Sirisena in Angunukolapelessa recently while armed were released on bail on Monday June 1.
The two released police officers were arrested and remanded for negligence of duty.
The three individuals were released on bail after being produced before the Agunukolapelessa Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning. The Magistrate ordered their release on two personal bonds of Rs. 200,000 each and sureties of Rs. 25,000 each.
The two police officers, who were arrested and remanded, were serving in the ranks of ASP and sergeant.
