The J.R. Jayewardene Centre, an institute that comes under the Presidential Secretariat, was inspected by President Maithripala Sirisena on Thursday, May 28.
According to the President’s Media Division, it has been two decades since a President had engaged in an inspection tour of the institute. Following the inspection on the institutes current status, President Sirisena also engaged in a cordial discussion with the Administration of the J.R. Jayewardene Centre.
The President also visited the museum with items used by the late President J.R.Jayawardena and the library located at the centre. Meanwhile, President Sirisena also attended an event where a sapling of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi was presented to be planted at the Shokwansa Temple in South Korea.
