Royal College Colombo won the 71st Bradby encounter on Saturday May 23 after defeating Trinity College Kandy 72 – 22.
This was incidentally the first time that Royal college won the Bradby encounter since 2010.
The 1st leg of the 71st Bradby encounter took place on May 9 in Kandy at which Royal College won 23-22 in a closely-contested encounter.
The second leg took place on Saturday evening at the Royal College Sports Complex.
Royal college were leading 18-nil at lemons. They extended their lead by 31 points in the second half of the game.
Their traditional rivals, Trinity College Kandy were not able to to put up any points on the scoreboard thus handing Royal College the Bradby Shield for the first time since 2010.
Royal College gathered their 49 points through 7 tries, four goals and two penalties.
The team with the highest points from both legs of the encounter wins the coveted Bradby shield.
This was the 31st time that Royal College had secured the Bradby Shield.
