Barcelona captain Xavi left the pitch to a standing ovation as his final La Liga game ended in a draw against Deportivo de La Coruna.

Barcelona manged to lift thier 6th La Liga Trophy against a emotional ‘back set’ team veteran Xavier “Xavi” Hernández bid goodbye to to his La Liga career.

The mid-fileder, who piled in 24 years at the club was taken off with five minutes left. The 35 year-old left, as the whole of Nou Camp payed him with much due respect. Xavi announced he will leave the Spanish champs at the end of the season to join Qatari side, Al Sadd. Barcelona players wore special shirts to honour the mid fielder.

His final match at Nou Camp is expected to be played in the Copa del Rey final against Atletico Madrid next weekend and his final appearance for the Spanish side would be in the UEFA cup final against Juventus.

Barcelona sped ahead against Deportivo de La Coruna with Messi heading in two goals but the game ended in a draw as Deportivo bravely hit two goals to level the score in the second half.
