President takes a stand on the misuse of financial allocations for public representatives

President Maithripala Sirisena says that he will put a stop to the misuse of money allocated to ministers and Parliamentarians. The President made this observation while attending a function in Pollonnaruwa on Sunday (May 17th).

The Pollonnaruwa district conference of the Sri lanka Freedom Party was held on Sunday morning under the auspices of President Maithripala Sirisena at the Buddhi Mandapa in Pollonnaruwa.

Speaking at the event the President said that remains dedicated to the task of resolving the problems of the people but added that will not worry about anyone’s personal problems.

President Sirisena also said that the SLFP needs to be democratic and the membership of the party needs to be empowered adding that it should not be ministers and mp’s who make decisions.

Speaking on party constitution he noted that they should amend the party constitution in such a way that there is more power for the party membership within the party.

President went onto note that he will not allow the misuse of power adding that financial allocations given to ministers, parliamentarians, provincial councilors and members of Pradeshiya Sabha’s, must be used only for public development ventures.
