The Fundamental Rights petition filed before the Supreme Court by the former Secretary to the Ministry of Defense, Gotabaya Rajapaksa will be taken up for on Wednesday (May 13th).
The petition will be heard before a three member bench comprising of Justices Eva Wanasundara, Buwaneka Aluwihare and Sarath De Abrew.
The petition has named the Prime Minister, Secretary to the President, the Deputy Inspector General of Police of the FCID, the Attorney General and the Cabinet of Ministers among its respondents.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa is seeking the intervention of the Supreme Court to prevent what he says is his imminent arrest.
