JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that the expiry date of the current government has passed.
Addressing a media briefing held on Sunday (May 10th) the JVP Leader noted that since the tenure and the role of the National Executive Council is now over, it has become meaningless to continue to maintain the National Executive Council.
He added that It is not only the National Executive Council whose tenure is over but also the government’s tenure as over. He stated that the parliament is based on the mandate given in 2010 and that in 2010, Ranil Wickremesinghe did not receive a mandate to form a government. MP Anura Kumara opines that from an ethical standpoint the Government’s validity was for only 100 days.
